Dalgona Coffee

I have made this coffee often, although funny thing is I did not know it was called “Dalgona Coffee” until recently. Interestingly that now it seems to be all the rage because everyone is staying at home and making their own “frothy” coffee drinks.
I often make this on my sailboat because it is delicious, quick, easy and all you need is a bowl, a whisk and some muscle power. So give it a try.
Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoons good quality instant coffee
- 1 to 2 Tablespoons white or brown sugar (see my note if you want to eliminate this)
- 2 Tablespoons hot water
- 5 ice cubes
- 1 cup of milk ( I use almond milk, but soy milk, regular milk or anything you prefer is perfect)
- Cinnamon or coco powder (instead of sugar)

Directions
- In a large bowl add instant coffee, sugar and hot water.
- Whisk for 5 to 10 minutes until frothy.
- Quick tip: If you have a food blender you can mix up the coffee, sugar and water on low speed for 3 to four minutes.
- Add ice to your glass, fill with milk and top with the coffee froth.
Note
Traditionally, the coffee drink includes sugar and that is the recipe here and how I prepare it for guests when entertaining.
I do try to eliminate sugar from my diet, so I make mine without the sugar and it isn’t as thick, but still very delicious. I replace the sugar with a little cinnamon and coco powder in the coffee and water mixture, prior to whisking.
If I am serving this to guests I serve the coffee with a dainty cookie or classic french madeleine to impress. Enjoy!

Amazing photography! Love the Coffee!!
I am going to try this. No sugar for me either!
Thanks Marni, you are awesome! Let me know how it turns out.
